Polaroid dates back to 1930's with the creation of polarization lens technology. Building on success of the Polaroid instant camera, a line of sun and optical eyewear was developed with the same lens, and democratic approach to design and accessibility. Nowadays, Polaroid's iconic pixel logo, incorporating the colors of the rainbow, is synonymous with the brand. In an effort to preserve the Pixel as a key feature and a recognizable visual element we brought the shape into Polaroid eyewear advertising.
2016 Summer campaign is based upon a concept that with Polaroid, You’ll See LIFE AT ITS BEST. We used the Summer 2016 Campaign to establish a strong link between our idea of You'll See (the legacy tagline), our product, the summer sun and the emotional element of "Life at its best."
Since Polaroid knows that these moments happen in the sunshine, we celebrated these glare-free memories from sunrise to sunset in the photography we captured for this campaign. The campaign extended into social, running a contest on Facebook and Instagram to share consumers best summer moments, into OOH in major European markets, and in events throughout the summer – from Summerburst in Stockholm to Color Runs throughout Italy and everywhere in-between.
